During February, the Queensland Reds 2nd XV, Premier Club XV and the Australian Barbarians played a series of games against a variety of opposition.
While Peter Hynes and Rod Davies have been representing GPS brilliantly as members of the Reds squad in Super 14, a number of our players have had the opportunity to play in the other early season games.
Lei Tomiki has been a stand out performer for the Reds 2nd XV while lock Pat Rynders has played full games for the Premier XV against both the Reds Seconds and the CASI club from Argentina. Jono Ellis has come off the bench with serious effect in both games for the Prems while Donovan Slade was called into the squad for the CASI game and was devastating in his short time on the field.
Geoff Ingram and Brett Naylor were selected in the Australian Barbarians team for the game against the Reds Seconds.
Support staff for the Premier XV and the Barbarians included Terry Donovan (Manager) and Scott Oakhill (Trainer).
Congratulations to all on their selection and recognition.
Preseason training for all club (grades and colts) players is at 6pm every Tuesday and Thursday at Yoku Road. Premier training will contine on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights.
