Gallopers on the Road

The Gallopers follow the Ladies Day carnival and head to Shaw Road this Saturday to take on the Norths Eagles. The Gallopers will have an eye on keeping hold of their second spot in the competition after a loss to the Bulldogs last week. The Gallopers let slip a 14-3 half time lead slip to lose 25-14 under the lights at Sylvan Road in front of a huge crowd.

The Gallopers welcome the return of Mitch King off the bench and will be looking to playing an expansive game to nullify the speedy Norths wingers. Steven Stagg once again has been selected in the centres and will look for a solid defensive game to secure his spot and add depth to the premier centres ranks following the return of Steve Hunt. The Gallopers hope a win on Saturday and the return of Reds players during the Test window in the coming weeks will help consolidate their position towards the back end of the season.

Norths will be looking to impress the home crowd on their Ladies Day after their loss to University last week. They return home for a week followed by three weeks on the road.

The Gallopers are in the top four in all grades and Colts 1 and for all teams an away win is vital to maintain their positions and to compete for the Doughty Shield.

The Gallopers supporters are gaining a reputationn for loyalty and support in the club’s 130th year, so make your way to Hugh Courtney Oval, the main game kicks off at 3.30 pm.
